Hello! I am Marcos, the newest sales rep here at Factor Forms & Labels.
I began working at Factor on December 5th, 2022. During that time I have met most of the staff and have had the opportunity to sit with experienced sales reps to learn hands-on. I have also spent some time training in the production department learning about what we create and how it is produced, every step of the way.
Prior to working here, I studied Graphic Design at MacEwan University and that gave me a very good base of understanding the conceptualization and creation processes most industry professionals use in their day to day design work. Immediately after that, I worked at a small newspaper shop that enabled me to work on many diverse jobs, beyond what I was taught at school. It really provided me with a new perspective of the design industry.
Now that I have started in my new role, I realize that I really enjoy being able to interact with Dealers and coworkers much more than working at a desk in solitude. It is nice to be in a social environment while working on building positive relationships with our customers and the amazing staff at Factor. In this environment I am able to use my education in a way that I never expected. I enjoy solving problems that are unique and learning from those experiences to increase my tool belt of knowledge.
An interesting fact about me is that I was born on January 1st in the year of the Tiger. My name means Of Mars, the Roman god of war. I am half Costa Rican and half German.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two cats. My wife and I have been together for 6 years and she has recently moved from the US to Canada after years of wanting to be together in person. The happiest place that I can be is with the person that persevered with me through a pandemic and countless hardships. The great news is that we are finally together! We spend our free time bingeing anime, going for walks outside in the fresh air and playing board games and card games with friends; where I am always trying to find creative ways to win! I also enjoy illustration and can get lost for hours on my tablet sketching characters and refining my drawings.
